Respecting A Life Lived Well: How to RECYCLE What You Declutter

  • Oxford Senior Center 922 Tollgate Drive Oxford, OH, 45056 United States (map)

PART OF THE FREE SEMINAR SERIES BEING HELD AT THE OXFORD SENIOR CENTER

Decluttering is all the rage, but what do you do with all the things you purge? This seminar will help you know what to sell, donate, recycle, or make available for re-use to keep it out of the landfill.

Also an IDEAL seminar for the adult children helping to clear out a loved one’s estate.

What should you do after decluttering? The answer seems simple enough: get rid of stuff, right?!

Whoa, there! You can stash away that trash bag for now – Not everything can (or SHOULD) go to the landfill.

April’s seminar will cover:

  • WHAT TO DO WITH THINGS YOU DON’T WANT (“What are my options?”)

  • HOW YOU CAN KEEP STUFF OUT OF THE LANDFILL (“You mean someone wants that?!”)

  • WHERE YOU CAN DONATE or SELL ITEMS YOU DON'T WANT (“So how do I do that?”)

In addition to the above, your seminar host will help you with the “Yeah-But-What-Do-I-Do-With?” tough stuff:

  • Old motor oil, household chemicals, and garden fertilizer in the garage

  • Dead batteries, broken appliances, and random cords from the over-stuffed junk drawer

  • Burned out florescent bulbs in the corner of your basement

  • Old X-Rays … Household bills from 1992 … Tax documents from 2013 — What should I keep? How do I dispose of what I don’t? (Actual things we’ve had to find answers for!)

Please register below so we have enough handouts for all!

You can feel good about helping reduce waste while providing much-needed resources to people who wouldn’t otherwise have access to them.
